Jason Wendorf
Director

Jason Wendorf serves as a Director in NewStar’s Middle Market Leveraged Finance group where he focuses on structuring, underwriting and executing senior and junior debt investments. He has over 10 years of leveraged finance experience and has executed transactions in a wide array of industries. Prior to joining NewStar, Mr. Wendorf was a Director in the Corporate Finance Group at CapitalSource Finance where he focused on originating and executing senior and second lien debt facilities primarily in the media, communications, and business services industries. While at CapitalSource, Mr. Wendorf led deal teams responsible for closing over 20 lead-agent transactions resulting in commitments in excess of $500 million. He has also served as an Assistant Vice President at GE Capital (formerly Heller Financial) in their Sponsor Finance Group where he was responsible for underwriting and monitoring generalist credits. Mr. Wendorf began his career in the Corporate Value Consulting Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he assisted clients on a wide variety of business valuation engagements.

Mr. Wendorf earned a BBA degree from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
