Scott C. Reeds

Scott Reeds joined NewStar in 2007 from Wachovia Securities where he was a Vice President in the Leveraged Finance group. Mr. Reeds spent the last 6 years originating, structuring, and executing integrated lead-arranger and bookrunner senior debt, senior 2nd lien, private mezzanine, and high yield financings for non-investment grade corporate and private equity clients. While with Wachovia, he closed 36 transactions totaling approximately $29 billion in capital raised to finance acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and refinancings primarily in the technology and services, industrial, and defense and aerospace sectors. Prior to receiving his MBA, he worked on the trading desk of a fixed income hedge fund, New Bond Trading, Inc.

Mr. Reeds holds an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA from the University of Vermont.
